Thank you for taking a stand today, before it's too late!

Our local oyster reefs have been decimated by decades of pollution, dredging and reclamation.

If they disappear, we’ll have more polluted coastal waters, less protection from storm surges, fewer local fish and marine species, and the traditional way of life for Hong Kong's oyster farming communities, with a history of 700 years, may disappear.

It takes a lot of work, good science and investment to revive oyster reefs, and people like you make it possible! Would you donate to support our work?

 Your donation could help:

  • Gather discarded shellfish shells from local restaurants and hotels that would normally end up in landfills, and recycle them into substrate for new, living reefs;
  • Rebuild more local oyster reefs;
  • Conduct marine science research to assess and improve reef restoration at current local project sites;
  • Fund research into future HK reef restoration sites;
  • Restore other local marine habitats, like mudflats and estuaries, whose health is interconnected with the survival of oyster reefs!

Your support today could help rescue Hong Kong’s precious oyster reefs from disappearing!

Since 1951, we’ve protected 52 million hectares of nature’s most threatened habitats. But our world today is threatened by challenges humanity has never faced before, and there’s so much more to be done. Today, Nature needs a Champion like YOU.

Together, we can create a world where people and nature can thrive!
